presentation evalution

I think our presentation went really well.  I think that Dan and Pete have really already said what the good bits and what the bad bits were.

There were quite a lot arguments the night before about how we should lay out the powerpoint presentation..more text? or more pictures? whose bit is more important and who should get more time? I think in the end we made the right decision. We decided to go for content over look- I’ll be the first to say that our powerpoint wasn’t particularly flashy, but all the graphs, pictures, sounds and links were directly relalvant to the points we were making whilst talking, which I think that is why people were able to follow the presentation with ease.

I do think that perhaps some of our posts on the blog have been a little convoluted and academic in their apprach and at times also a little sporadic, but I do think that we made an attempt keep it flowing. I think personally I attempted to stick to a ‘readable’ format but that it often lacked visuals- I’d argue that looking at other media regulation, it’s hard to find pictures/audio to make the text intersting.

I’m pleased that we got such positive feedback from our peers and I found the expereince of working with friends intersting- glad that we are still mates at the end of it.

Yes i agree, and i have thoroughly enjoyed working with you lot. Even the arguments we had before the presentation i thought were constructive and useful and needed to be had to achieve our presentation.
Although the blog might have worked better if we had followed our original structure more rigorously, but i still think we have hopefully taken our blog readers on a journey, as i feel my eyes have certainly been opened, not just on our topic but on other people’s aswell.

Congratulations on a very well organised presentation. I think your topic was a really good one to spark a debate as there are so many different approaches to the way internets could be regulated. I do however feel that the Internet may be the last place where one CAN actually express themselves without hindering too much on the rest of us. Publishing on the internet is very simple and does lead to people giving un qualified advice. But that too leaves the question of what is qualified. I do not pretend to know how to solve this problem but only offer the opinion that there may be some structure in chaos. The more individuals assume the responsibility for their own actions the better we will all be at the end. It is up to us as journalists and indeed as people to seek a more balanced approach to information on the internet and the less regulation will actually need to be formalised. You presentation gave me plenty of things to think about and hopefully a resolution to these problems can be devised sooner rather than later to prevent things like this happening again.

I enjoyed your presentation. The style was a good mix of information with great improvisation/skit pieces to keep us engaged.

Engaging and informative; two essential qualities for journalists; if the presentation is anything to go by you will make excellent ones!
